Clean-living: Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed her New Year cleanse to readers of her lifestyle website, GOOP
With her slender Tracy Anderson-honed body, we're not exactly convinced that Gwyneth Paltrow is they type to overindulge at Christmas.
Nonetheless, the star is embarking on a New Year cleanse, and thanks to her lifestyle website, GOOP, we can all follow suit.
Lasting 21 days, her fans may be relieved to know that it is not an extreme juice-only cleanse - rather a healthy-eating plan that is low on fat and sugar, so perfect for dropping pounds.
Named Clean, it is the brainchild of Dr Alejandro Junger, who the actress regards as something of a guru.
It comprises two 'tasty' protein shakes for breakfast and dinner, and a lunch made from any combination of prescribed foods.
These include plenty of vegetables such as salad leaves and kale, as well as brown rice, chickpeas and butternut squash.
And GOOP even lists a number of recipes according to Dr Junger's diet, including wild salmon collard wraps, pumpkin coconut stew and a salad by Jamie Oliver.
In addition to the shakes, the package includes a combination of supplements including probiotics, fibre powder and 'liver support'.
Ms Paltrow is clearly an eager fan - she reveals on her site that she followed the cleanse last year and is keen to do so again.
She wrote: 'Next week, when it’s back to the grind with work and the daily school run, I’m starting off with Clean, my go-to cleanse from Dr Alejandro Junger...
'I’ve used Clean in the past with great results, losing a few pounds and kickstarting a healthier and more energetic New Year.'

But she's not the only one to wax lyrical about its results. Dr Junger, who warns followers to consult a doctor before embarking on the cleanse, boasts that 50,000 people have done the programme so far.

'I see that as a testament to how eager people are to feel better, and how effectively this cleanse works,' he said.
Of course it will take some planning and patience to juggle your spirulina and stevia supplements, not to mention the packed lunches, and at $425 it certainly doesn't come cheap - but there could certainly not be a more impressive advocate than Ms Paltrow.
And if will make us look like that, we're prepared to give anything a go.
