'Johnny Rotten punched me and called me fat,' claims TV assistant

hellraiser Johnny Rotten was last night accused of punching a female TV assistant while working as a celebrity judge on a U.S. reality show.
Roxane Davis claimed the punk rocker - whose real name is John Lydon - made her 'fear for her life' after flying into a rage.
The personal assistant claimed in court papers that Lydon, 52, suddenly went berserk and hit her in the face before screaming a tirade of abuse at her.

Miss Davis, who was working on the TV show, Bodog Battle of the Bands, alleged the singer became angry after discovering his hotel room did not have an adjoining door to his own personal assistant's room.

In court papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, Miss Davis claimed the I'm a Celebrity... star launched a vile four-letter tirade before describing her as a 'fat whore' during the row at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in LA on January 23 last year.
The assistant, who is seeking damages for assault, battery and emotional distress, said she was hired to take care of the personal needs of Lydon while he was a celebrity judge on the show that sees bands battling for a £500,000 record deal.
The court papers state: 'Rotten screamed at Ms. Davis about his dissatisfaction with the hotel rooms.
'Since the rooms did not have connecting doors, Rotten would be forced to open his hotel door, step outside of his room into the hallway, and walk a couple of feet in order to be able to enter his assistant, Rambo's hotel room next door to him.'
After rowing with hotel staff about the room, she claimed he struck out at her and knocked her against a wall.

The legal documents state: 'Rotten then cocked back his fist to strike Ms. Davis and punched her in the face.

'As Rotten punched Ms Davis, Rambo grabbed both Ms Davis and Rotten and they stumbled violently with Rambo and Rotten falling against the wall.'
The court papers continue: 'After being assaulted and in fear of her life, Ms Davis rushed towards the elevator.

'Rotten screamed sexual epithets and obscene insults at Ms Davis.'
The legal documents also claim that after reporting the allegations to her supervisor her complaints 'fell on deaf ears'.

The court papers claim that a supervisor told her: 'You get paid to be treated like s***, you get paid to take the s***.... Now, get back to Rotten.'
The show features bands eliminated by celebrity judges including Lydon and The Cult star Billy Duffy as they battle it out for a record deal.

The court papers claim the company was informed prior to hiring Lydon that he "could become violent and exhibit harassing behaviour during production."

Singer Lydon led the punk revolution of the 1970s with his outrageous band, the Sex Pistols.

His provocative public personality has landed him in hot water before, most notably in the now legendary television interview with Bill Grundy when Lydon swore on live TV.

Lydon is set to lead the Sex Pistols on tour this year and they are booked to play a number of festivals over the summer.
