Over: Evan Rachel Wood and Marilyn Manson have called off their engagement
Marilyn, 41, and the True Blood star, 22, ended their relationship last week, according to People magazine.
Manson, real name Brian Warner, then went out on Saturday night to take his mind off the split.
Another source told the entertainment site: 'They just broke off their engagement, and he needed a night out with friends.'
Manson's relationship with the young actress has seen its fair share of ups and downs, with the couple splitting twice since going public in 2007.
In November 2008, Wood issued a statement saying 'Manson and I both decided to take some time apart so we could concentrate on work.'
However, they got back together for a short time in 2009 before taking another break.
By the end of the year they had got back together and, in January this year announced they were engaged.
After working together on the video for Manson's single Heart Shaped Glasses (which he wrote for Evan), the couple planned to star in a feature film together.
Manson was previously married to burlesque star Dita Von Teese and was engaged to actress Rose McGowan.
